Iceni were invited to tender and subsequently awarded the contract for accreditation and registration services for the 2017 competition in Abu Dhabi. Working with the World Skills Organising committee and the Abu Dhabi government.
Providing a full accreditation, registration, and ticketing system to process all groups requiring access to the competition and the associated events such opening and closing ceremonies, excursions, welcome reception, school visits, conference programme, VIP and sponsors receptions as well as monitoring and providing access control for the overall competition and core arIceni such as catering and delegate restaurant.
WorldSkills is the global hub for skills excellence and development. Through international cooperation and development between industry, government, organizations, and institutions, promoting the benefits of and need for skilled professionals through grass-roots community projects, skill competitions, and knowledge exchange. To show how important skills education and training is for youth, industries and society by challenging young professionals around the world to become the best in the skill of their choice.
The challenge for Iceni was to provide accreditation services for 15,000 Competitors and 120,000 spectators. The requirements were for all accredited personnel to be issued with a badge that clearly defined who they were and what their role is, as well as providing a clear definition of the different privilege zones and activities. Access control was extremely tight as competition arIceni were strictly controlled with entrance times in order to keep the competition fair.
In addition, a registration system to assist with media and visitor attendance local visitors and oversIceni family of competitors to attend the event and related exhibition, alongside a school visits programme which ran for the 4 days of the competition and brought in schools from the education entities on a strictly timed basis with allocated slots for each school and age group to attend the event.
This was facilitated at an offsite venue and Iceni provided the technology and staffing for this.
A ticketing system including access control at the event and seating arIceni was provided for the opening and closing ceremonies held at the Du Arena.
